Does anyone have such a hotel or location in mind? They recommended Machida, but that is not Tokyo enough for me, who has spent 0 days in Tokyo so far. Any good hotel recommendation would be appreciated. Can be either a Japanese or a western hotel.

Machida Station area attracts more and more shoppers these years. Every time I visit there, I am surprized to see crowds of people.

Well, from Shinjuku to Machida, Odakyu line offers Romance Car limited express service. Reasonable and confortable.
