Call the hotel directly to ask about specials. Being in Memphis, I would say the location is fairly good for site seeing. The price seems high but you will be paying for d the tourist area. There is a trolley system close by to get you from one end of Main to other, being the Pyramid/Pinch District. Try TJ Mulligans, Erika's German Restraunt and of course the Rendevous for "dry" ribs, Interstate or Corkys for "wet"style. Oh back to your question.... I can 't comment on the rooms or if you would even receive some type of upgrade (i'm gold myself). There are the casinos down the hwy at Tunica MS and some Hotels offer transport service to them. Most of us Feds stay out "east" to get better rates. There is not much public transportation to get you around like Atlanta, you will need a car. If you need to be downtown that is the place..Be careful and have a wonderful Memphis time!
