I spent two nights in a CY in California (Walnut creek area) and left after the breakfast attendant, angling for a tip, ran over and lifted my waffle onto a plate.......with her bare hand. Then I moved to the HIX down the road and realized that I should have stayed there all along. Free breakfast, BBQ dinner on the first night, and no health code violations that I could witness. Ples, two nights there got me a free night that I used to make a reservation at the IC in Austin, a 40K point value. Not bad.

Holiday Inn Express? While the 50% reduction in points is not a deal breaker for me (to stay @ a RI), I would stay in the worst Courtyard if that was all that was there. It "hurts" if I have to stay in a non MR or Hilton property...I don't mind forfeiting a few points here or there, but I'm not forfeiting stays/nights toward obtaining/maintaining my status--unless I absolutely have to (like when I'm in Bishop or Calaveras County!).
