This is an issue with Korean names. Take 김정일 (Kim Jong Il). "Jong Il" is the first name, but machine readable passports would make "Il" the middle name. I guess this is why many Koreans use hyphenated first names.
Yeah, my wife has the same problem, although with Chinese. Since she didn't have a middle name she converted her last name to a middle name and took my name as a last name, so now by English appearances she has 4 names. It does all sorts of weird things to systems expecting her to have the usual 3.
