The same thing happened to me in May. I later e-mailed HHonors customer service and much later received a reply that basically said 'it's up to the property'.

I don't really understand what a lot of cruisers would have to do with the lounge. If you have to be staying at the hotel and a Gold, then you have access. If your are not no access, or extra fee.
