Getting charged for Lounge access

I've been HH gold for a few years and have greatly enjoyed the comp lounge access.

In my last trip to the Hilton Anchorage (downtown), I was counting on this access as my wife needed a place to spread out and work. I was informed at checkin that the executive lounge was for Diamonds only and as a Gold memebr I would be charged $25 if I wanted access.

Is a change in policy?
