Can AY members change seat selection online? I thought one of the gripes they had with the AY website was that it wouldn't allow you (or didn't have the functionality) to change your seat after booking.

Your choice of seats depends on the fare bucket. For cheapest Y flights (at least within Europe) you get to choose from the rear of the plane and can then try to move forward at OLCI.
By calling AY after booking, as a BA Silver on super-cheap Y tickets I've been able to get seats towards the front of the plane that were showing as blocked off.
