They are leaving because malpractice insurance is way to high for them to afford. The reason it's so high is because of the increase in malpractice suits in that state. Look, it sounds completely reasonable that runaway lawsuits (or successful lawsuits) are the cause. But, I just have never seen anything to back this up.

Every type of insurance carrier uses this same deflection for any variety of insurance to justify higher and higher premiums. Their control over policy and lawmaking is the problem. But that is another story altogether.
