Tip #1 from an old-timer (at age 36). Find a job you like. Travel may be a criteria, but if you are basing your job search only on finding a job with a lot of travel, you may end up miserable. Remember, not all consultants are happy, and you don't always get to travel when you want.

Ain't that the truth. For every time I've gotten to MEX, LHR, HKG, or YYZ, I've had to go to OMA, TUL, BIS, CLE, LAX and other random hellholes a dozen times.
The only time I really question quitting my job of almost 10 years is when I'm sitting at the best hotel in town (Probably a "Comfort" Inn...) in some podunk in flyover country eating the best food in town (Dominos...).
