I strongly agree that the focus should usually be on your drive times. Only when those are close should you base the decision on the relative convenience of the airports themselves. BUR, ONT, LGB and SNA are all easier to use than LAX, although BUR and LGB are dumps. Still, if your destination is within 10 miles of LAX, use LAX.
