BA 747s upper deck have FA jumpseats opposite the emergency exit pax, thus in the middle of the cabin amidst the pax. Had a nice chat with the UD purser during takeoff that way, and he selected me as one of the pax to fill out a rather involved survey form on how things were done on the flight.

I liked how BA also slowly brought up the lighting in the cabin in the morning preperatory to serving breakfast. First the lights on the side walls, then the overhead lights--more of a shortened breaking dawn light inside the cabin, which was very gentle for the pax.
