He'll probably get the same message. It sounds like OP is traveling outside the USA.

I get this often when I have a separate tickets for the inbound. A UA person is then required to verify that I have a way out of the destination country. Usually they only ask if I am USA resident and do I have a return ticket. But I can't use OLCI or Easy Chicken for these trips.
