Wow....you are either 1) from Canada or 2)work for Bombardier. The design and enginieering of the the CRJ-200 is not the best. There has been many flaws that have been corrected on the CRJ-700/900. Don't get me wrong, the aircracft is safe but I disagree with your statement.
The aircraft is engineered very well because it has an impeccable safety record. There have been no fatal crashes that were any fault of Bombardier. The only 2 fatal crashes were due to crew error.
First:China Eastern flight 5210 crashed due to not being deiced before takeoff.
Second:Comair 5191 because of pilots choosing the wrong takeoff surface.
