I have flown on them many times, 25 times last year, 41 times this year to be precise, and while they are safe enough for me, I hate them due to the cramped cabin and frequent delays that larger aircraft seem to avoid to a larger degree. I try everything in my power to re-arrange my schedule to fly on larger aircraft when ever possible. If there is weather, you will feel the ride more, but it is not too bad.

So if you are a nervous flyer the RJ, while much, much better than a turbo-prop, might be something to avoid, for your sake and your fellow passengers.
