The bus is a joke.

I live 4 miles from LGW, and it's cheaper for us to pre-book a private hire cab (from Roadrunners in Redhill) @ £40 e/w (for up to 4 pax - went with 5 in a people carrier for £60 once) than it is to catch the bus at £21 each way pp, not to mention the additional (relatively nominal) cost and hassle of getting to LGW in the first place.
