I'd post this in the rental car forums but they all seem to be company-specific: I'm flying into SFO for a vacation in August, am on a not-unlimited budget, and I'm wondering which rental car company people have had the best experiences with in terms of car selection, service, and not being jerked around by the desk staff. I have Hertz #1 club gold and Avis somethingorother through work, plus a few discount codes at most agencies, but assuming that everyone's going to charge me roughly the same $90/day for a midsize/standard car after taxes and fees, where should I spend that for the overall best experience? I'd much prefer to end up in an Accord than a Buick, and would probably pay an extra few bucks at the counter if they offered to move me into something fun, if that's any indication...
