I tried re-referring someone who got snared in their technical problem (i.e. says they were referred, but they never got anything). Still no-go (duplicate entry message). Mail.com looks like a good place for new e-mails; the sign-up isn't nearly as bad as with something like yahoo and you can select from lots of different domains. They also don't have the aggressive deletions of other services like mailin8r.
