I applied for a Citi AA MC the other day and received a rejection email. Called CS (888-201-4523) to get an explanation. Was told that I'm only allowed 2 Citi card applications every 60 days. I believed I was fine on that count, and asked the CS for the dates of the previous applications. She looked up the dates (which she recited to me) and agreed I was OK on the dates, but then went to check with a supervisor. Came back to tell me that I could have 2 cards every 60 days, but could not get the SAME card more than once every 60 days, which is what I had attempted. I should have been rotating between the MC and AMEX but failed to do so. Lesson learned.

Also, when she gave me the dates of the previous applications, the business card that I had applied for and received was not one of the dates listed, even though it was the most recent card. I still believe, in spite of some of the posts here, that the business card is on a 90 day cycle apart from the personal cards.
