Portugal Mobile Broadband

I had entertained the idea of buying a mobile broadband USB stick in the UK for a month-only deal. Salesguy says that the prepaid version is hellish expensive around £10 a minute and that i'd be better buying mobile boradband for a year for around £120. (still too expensive).

i'm going to be there for a 2 week holiday mid July and another option has presented itself which is to buy a temporary or 1 month deal for mobile broadband once I reach Portugal. the advantage being you're paying local rates under a pay as you go and not £10 a minute.

Has anybody done this? the UK current best rate I could find was 3gb limit for 30 days for £15 plus £25 for the USB-device-thingy.

cheers!
