I wasn't under the impression that this could happen. Aren't NW cabin crews assigned to NW-operated flights, and DL cabin crews assigned to DL-operated flights? If that's the case, then the cabin-crews are tagging-along for the carrier-operated flight, and you'd have to blame the group assigning routes to carrier.
Can DL or NW cabin crews now bid for any flight they want, no matter the operating-carrier?
