Infact, the FA on the Colgon flight coming in told us the pilot had called operations to let them know of the delay as well. Anyway, the BF concierge then walked us to the gate and into the plane. I was extremely impressed. Furthermore, the service of both flights was exceptional; courteous, efficient and professional. Even though I had flown BF before, I walked away with an extremely good feeling about the value I had received for what I paid.
My connecting flights on BA in J were just so-so. Their hard product is better, but their AVOD is not as good, and the food nor service did not come close to Continental's. Has anyone else had really good experiences in BF lately?
I was on CO 29 in BF (9D and 9E) on the 22nd and have to agree with you. The service on this flight was definitely one of the better I've experienced in BF on CO. The only issue we had was my wife's seat didn't work at all during the flight. They offered to re-seat her, but she wanted to stay next to me, but they were able to get the seat in a good position manually for her, so it was fine. This flight was to move back to the U.S. from the U.K. (we'd been living there the past two years), so it was really nice to get such top noch service. We had just flown TG (Thai) to Bali in J as well and were really impressed how CO 29 stood out for us.
To the poster that said BA J is well ahead of CO, I think that's a strong statement. BA J is nice and the hard product (specifically the seating) is probably ahead of CO for a sleeping flight, I like the CO product for non-sleeping flights because of the wider seat. I think with the AVOD on 777 being completed and the CO crews, the service on CO is better. That said, I can see both sides of the argument on this one.
