Having spent many years travelling in 777s in Y - since I have been able to afford it I positively love the J cabin - yes it has the dormitory feel (and yes the 747 and the 3 clas are better) - but once your snuggle down either to sleep or to watch a film - who cares?

Think of all those poor sould who traipse past J on their way to Y - I guess they would love to spend 8 hours in the hellish J dormitory.

As G-BOAC says - it's all relative.
