The fare rules stated that the non-refundable amount remains non-refundable for my ticket that I cancelled. I tried to purchase a ticket to Florida and have the remainder issued in an ETC, but they refused. It all depends on the fair rules for the ticket purchased.
Interesting...I have never had a problem getting an ETC if the new ticket was less than the canceled ticket (even on the cheapest fares imaginable). Anyone else out there have trouble getting an ETC in such a scenario?
