Unfortunately, I did not ask the crew at the time, as I did not want to make them uncomfortable at what could have been a ground crew snaffu. I will ask next time.

True the seat could have been not for commercial release, or it could have been offered as an upgrade to a pax in the knowledge the seat is not quite right.

It is all down to communication, yes I am glad I did not get a dodgy seat, yes I am glad to have received a good seat in exchange, but communication is key, especially when a pax is disappinted. Unfortunately with BA cutting these days we assume the worst.
