I know you want to maximize TP, but AA's LAX-HNL flight is a 757. Pretty mediocre aircraft for a 5 hr flight.

AA's DFW-HNL flight is a 763 with lie-flat seats in F. It's close to a proper international business class flight - IFE needs work, however. The meal is closer to a USA domestic F long-haul meal, but it's a pleasant, comfortable ride to HNL. AA also uses the comfortable 763 for DFW-OGG if you'd prefer to end up in Maui instead of Honolulu.

It would be hard to connect to either DFW-HNL flight (AA runs 2 per day) or DFW-OGG without an overnight somewhere. Possible routing might be LHR-JFK-DFW-HNL or LHR-MIA-DFW-HNL.
