The "risk" I was alluding to was the risk inherent in any prepaid, nonrefundable stay, added to the risk that the hotel might not honor the rate if you violate the terms. But maybe I am wrong here! (Yes, sometimes I make mistakes!!! )

Anyhow, the other thing about these 2-for-1 deals is that they are limited availability, and quite often you will not find them available back-to-back at the same hotel on the dates you want. Hence, you might end up hotel-hopping simply to be able to maximize your savings.
