I feel the statement that nwa.com is "less functional" than delta.com to be grossly inaccurate, even today. (But delta.com is -- and will be -- getting better over time)

The websites are more than just award booking, even though that may be an important aspect. I tend to think of website functionality in a broader scope, but it's understandable if people are focused on one function/feature in short bursts of time.
