Absolutely right ^. I too am saddened at the abuse these people suffer on this forum. If you approach these employees with this attitude, then what on earth do you expect to get back?

I have never been shouted at at T5 in the same way that I am regularly by the TSA in the US and even there, it is mostly just because it's the US... a bit aggressive, loud and uncouth I don't take it personally.

All over the world I always approach with a smile and comply with requests and what do you know? It goes fine and I get as good as I give.

In fact my little Victorinox card containing tiny nail scissors and file has been all over the world for the last 12 months in my cabin luggage - countless times through T5 security - and those two elements were only taken from me at HKG last week . That's the first time in a while I've become annoyed at the inconsistency of airport security but of course I didn't say anything. The HKG guy was polite but firm and it was not like I was going to win the argument... so they went into the bin.
