Welcome to Kansas City. This hotel became a Doubletree I think 2 years ago, we have many conventions nearby and have recommended it in the past, with mixed feedback. It just isn't close to many places that people want to go to when they are in Kansas City-but is great for the convention centers. The 2 rooms I have seen were both nice, upgrade opportunities are good if a convention is not in town. Most people prefer the Embassy Suites on the Country Club Plaza for the service, rooms and location (it even has a 2 level indoor pool with waterfall)-but the rates are a little higher.
