You can contact customer service, but that will not do much for you other than the posibility to get an extension on the free room reward.
These smaller hotels are nearly all private owned and can change brands often. When they do, the correct thing would be for them to look at upcming reservations for award stays and notify the customers. They did not do that and other than the possibility of extending your award certificate, there is not much Wyndham can do for you.
