Ever thought maybe the FA is having problems and hence their lack of service towards you? If he seemed embarassed as you suggest, he would have tried harder to make up for the mess up. Something doesn't ad up.

Yes the BA F is very much the old boys club and there are better airlines, but then why do you care?
Oh, so maybe you were that FA who wasn't approving of my presence that day. Guess you're upset about being asked to work for free - I'd be upset if my company made me pay for my own flights whilst on business for them.

btw - I mainly fly Oneworld airlines and in 99% of the premium cabins especially on long haul F, drinks/service is offered pre take-off, no need for a butler.
