I'm sorry you had a poor experience in First with BA. This certainly isn't the norm and most people enjoy their experience. It seems like you had a rather poor crew on this occasion.

As for dress code .... if you've booked and paid for First you can dress as you wish to travel. Most people travelling in First do tend to be nicely dressed with suit, trousers and shirt, or perhaps jeans and shirt.

However, if looking for an upgrade we do still consider how somebody is dressed and would not upgrade those in, say, track suits/football shirts/trainers, etc.

Personally I like to make the effort to look nice when I travel, albeit still be comfortable. A nice pair of trousers and shirt will still allow you to do this.
