My personal record is 38 EasyUpdate emails for one "creeping delay", which constituted a mix of mechanicals and cancellations...totaling a 25 hour delay. Other than the over-night portion, I think each delay increment was less than an hour. Didn't take long before I stationed myself in the ORD F-RCC and ignored the creeping announcements.

Fortunately, I've been luckier lately.
