I just had this problem in New Orleans. I’d booked 3 nights during 4th of July and wanted to check in 1 night later, for 2 nights instead of 3. When I called I was informed there were not any rooms available for those 2 nights. When I explained I already had a room for those 2 nights and just wanted to keep them and cancel 1 night, Hilton would not let me do that, no matter how hard I tried to explain that I just wanted to keep the 2 of the original nights. The computer would not let them do that. I gave up and cancelled the whole thing.
