I was trying to book several Friday night only or Saturday nite only at various Hilton brands a few weeks back. They all showed no availability for the one night.

I then rechecked between 4 and 6 weeks out, and everything opened up for me. Maybe they hold the rooms for two night reservations until they get closer to the actual dates.
