The Longyang Road part may be manageable, but the SH subways themselves were never designed with international travelers in mind (and that goes double for People's Square Station).
Also, if you happen to be near Jing'an Temple (e.g. Hilton, Portman, etc), the #2 bus is a great way to go, even if the "in-town terminal" function doesn't work as touted.
Am concern about the actual "subway to Meglev" transfer on foot: how far and any up & down walking? Acknowledged that escalators being available at some places.
