Although I like HGI, I've yet to come across one with a garden, but they do have a small refrigerator and microwave oven in the rooms. At least most of the HGI are fairly new, unlike some of the well worn Hiltons. Usually no full service retaurant at HGI but who eats at the hotel anyway unless they have to? I've often found that in larger cities, rooms at HGI and Hilton for that matter can be less expensive than even Hampton Inn.
