Personally, I'd like to see an LEO tell the TSO, "Well, you mean you're NOT an idiot?"

I can tell you that I'd be speaking to a lawyer about that one. There is absolutely no justification for the cop making a threat like that, or even implying he has that ability, either. Calling your employer?

Looks like the TSO isn't the only person who was an idiot here; the LEO deserves that same label.

I'd go so far as to say the same rules don't apply to both, and that the behavior of the TSO and LEO in such an encounter should be held to a higher standard. It is, after all, their job to handle situations like this at all times, and they're acting on behalf of the government. That carries much stricter rules of conduct than an average Joe undergoing screening.

As with my comment above, responding in kind is childish, and the TSOs and LEOs have to deal with being held to a higher standard. And I don't just mean they shouldn't engage in name-calling or other expressions of sour attitude ("don't go away mad; just go away" for example), but that passive-aggressive, vindictive actions like retaliatory secondaries, NCIC checks and threats to call employers, etc., simply are not acceptable behavior, no matter what the provocation.
