As long as it's good quality soap and in nice pump bottles, I agree this is the way to go. A hotel I stayed at recently had full size bottles of Molton Brown products (attached to some kind of holder that locked them in place). I liked it for the cleanliness, ease of use, green factor and quality of the soap.
When hotels are using big pump bottles or dispenser, it is really no way to tell if it is good quality or if they are still what they are susposed to use in that hotel chain, unless the brand of toiletries also make a larger size like Molton Brown. I had stayed at the Hilton YVR, all hilton is supposed to use Crabtree & Evelyn La Source, that particular Hilton has dispenser for all shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash. Sure the stuff is still blue like what La Source, but the smell is totally different, I can tell it is NOT crabtree & evelyn right away.
