I've never had a problem with things falling off. Even in turbulence. Cups, plates, passport, wallet, phone, glasses, papers, pens, amenity kit, you name it. The guy next to me even managed to balance a magazine there through an entire NRT-ORD flight earlier this week.

What are you guys putting on there? Maybe you should leave your marbles and ball-bearings at home next time
