I got my VISA bill for last month and it had charges for 3 stays @ a Courtyard in ATL, all on the same night, that I never made. I did stay at that hotel one night during the week before but I never make paid reservations or stays on the weekends.

So, I called and put a freeze on my card and the VISA people called the hotel to follow up. The hotel told the VISA security people that the charges were for 3 no shows on web reservations. I told the security guys that I had reserved and stayed there the week before but that was it. I never made those reservations and they agreed to waive the charges. That was nice of them but the situation was pretty disturbing.

I got a new card issued just to make sure that no fraud had taken place. I'm curious to see if anyone else has ever had this happen to them? Be sure to check your bills carefully in the future too!
