Because it has been proven, time and again, that the government will STILL seize your money, regardless of your thoughts on, or readily available proof of, its legitimacy, and force you to sue your own money in court to get it back, thanks to these asinine forfeiture laws. The burden of proof is built into the laws in such a way that:
- The money owner is presumed guilty of nefarious acts until proven innocent in a court of law (the exact opposite of centuries of legal precedence in these United States)
- The government gets the benefit of the doubt in all cases; even if found that the government acted improperly, they are not held accountable
