I have had AF segments show as cancelled on Continental.com, but when I look at the reservation on Airfrance.com (using ticket number) the segments are actually still booked and valid.

Personally I think it's a problem on Continental's end. Go to your receipt, get the ticket number, go to "Your Reservations" on Air France website and see what they have to say about it.
