I am curious if anyone has experience booking these RC Point Savers. Per this web page the instructions are:

1. Select a hotel from the participating hotel list
2. Call 1-800-241-3333 to make a reservation at a Ritz-Carlton hotel
3. Order a PointSavers certificate by calling 1-801-468-4000, quoting the appropriate code as listed below

When I called reservations I explained that I was booking a PointSavers award reservation. The agent said the PointSavers rate was not valid, but that there was availability at the normal point rates. I tried 4 different properties on what I considered to be off peak dates. Basically, the agent would not concede that there is such a thing as "PointSavers".

Is it necessary to specifically book a PointSavers rate, or should I simply book a normal award reservation, and then order the appropriate PointSavers certificate?
