Quick question. If you're EXP, they'll guarantee you (+ a companion) a seat on any flight within 48 hours, right? If he was EXP, would they have given him seats on the unavailable flights he wanted on the next month's dates? Would they have changed his reservation and essentially overbooked the flight further or would they have canceled the original reservation and charged him the ticket difference for the oversold flight?
I have only just become EXP, and don't see myself spending extra to book an oversold flight, but I imagine the prices are exorbitant if you use that guarentee to get a seat. Does a discount economy fare that would normally be $300-400 from BOS/DFW go up to $1000 or something like that typically? Experiences?
Thanks
