I think weight limit for cabin luggage is 7kg with Lufthansa. So anything else but a shoulder bag will be hard.
Besides that, the BR 22" bags are known for not fitting the sizers because of the outsider handle system. This means that even if you could take this bag on board loaded with all of 2kg (because it weighs more than 5kg on its own), you'd still have to check it because it is too big. In US you might get away with it but probably not in Europe and Asia. Hey, at least you're flying LH and SQ.
Also, what are your clothing requirements? You speak of Polo and shorts but want to take a bag that is totally set up for suits. Are you there on business and Polo and shirts are just for the time you are not in a suit? I have not been to T and S but from what I understand Polo and shorts are not the clothing of choice there for a gentleman.
Do you need a rolling bag? Will you bring a laptop? Would you be willing to carry two bags, one for clothes and one briefcase with a laptop.
If so, you might want to look into getting a shoulder bag e.g. Airboss, Tom Bihn, BR 235x, Easygoing carry-on bag, Patagonia MLC and so on. These weigh around 1.5-2.5kg. Light enough to put the clothes you need for eight days (if you pack wisely) and still stay under the weight limit. Then take a briefcase with all the professional stuff. This way you carry on everything. Just a thought. If you are not carrying professional stuff, the shoulder bag is an even more appealing solution because you might need only one bag. You can still check any of these. They are very sturdy and the warranties are good.
