Do most non-USA luxury hotels have washcloths (or facecloths)?
"Facecloth" is a common Canadian or British synonym.
I acknowledge this is a trivial point, but I am just slightly curious.
My experience is like this outside North America:
3* (and less) hotels that aren't related to an American chain - definitely no washcloths
3* hotels that are related to an American chain - washcloths are at least possible
4* and up hotels of any chain (haven't stayed at a non-chain in this category) - usually washcloths
The justification is often said to be something along the lines that Europeans consider washcloths too personal to stock at hotels, but obviously many European hotels have them regardless.
I would presume that my experience at the lower end of luxury hotels, where washcloths are prevalent, would also hold for real luxury hotels outside North America.
