Yeah, that's basically what makes all of that sort of thing off-limits for this trip. We can't take that much time out for a diversion. The first two days of driving would be a straight shot to meet up with the BIL.

(Oh, yeah. Now we're thinking about departing on Thursday night, stopping for an evening in Las Vegas, Nevada, and meeting up with the MIL in Salt Lake City, Utah.)

And I just checked tickets on UA. They've come down. Given the voucher we have to spend, the balance of cost and effort seems to be swinging back in favor of flying.

Ugh, I agree with you there; it's horrible ... with the possible exception of the southwestern part of the state near Evanston, Wyoming. Pretty much anything east of there is some of the most godforsaken turf, IMO (more so than either Nebraska or Kansas).

Well, if we do drive, we'll nick the very northwestern corner of the state on I-15!
