Firstly, a big WELCOME to FlyerTalk
CPKensington^
It's great to hear that there are industry lurkers on here, and imho, it's fantastic that a hotel wants to be a bit fun and different, and presumably a bit more personal as well.
If you get the tone right, it'll definitely bring you, and hopefully keep you lots of custom. My personal advice (for what it's worth) would be to have lots of fun and to say how great the hotel is, but possibly go easy on "bigging up" your staff too much, as it
could come across as arrogant and leave you further to fall if/when people have a bad experience. I'd say you also need to ensure that the silliness disappears when there's a complaint - as there's nothing more infuriating than not being taken seriously in that situation. However, get the balance right, and I think you're on to a winner.
Anyway, I'm now gutted I didn't pop in last week when I was in the area - I was in the Kensington Forum instead, and although the staff there were great (especially one of the ladies behind the bar....!!), if yours are
all gorgeous, I definitely missed out....
As an aside, as you'll no doubt have discovered if you've had a bit of a look through this site, one of the big general gripes about PC is the lack of recognition of Plat members by hotels. If you make yourself stand out as one of the stars that do recognise us, I'm sure you'll put big smiles on regulars' faces who will glowingly recommend you to other savvy travellers on here
Cheers
