I think the rules don't allow for a higher fare to be charged when you just don't use the last coupon(s).
The rules talk about rerouting and higher fares. But in this case you would not reroute the ticket.

Anyway, i know lots of people who constantly travel on RTWs and often don't use the last segment. Nobody ever had to pay more. So you should be safe.
